PRO SPORTS ASSEMBLY, RISE, TO OFFER CERTIFICATE OF INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP FOR SPORTS PROFESSIONALS

April 14, 2021

[PRO] Sports Assembly and RISE, the national nonprofit that uses sports to combat racism and unite diverse communities, are partnering to empower sports industry professionals across the country to be leaders in discussing and addressing matters of racism, diversity, equity and inclusion through a new [PRO] RISE Certificate of Inclusive Leadership.

As part of the Assembly's professional development program, the certificate workshops, which are designed and led by RISE, will offer training, development and support to guide participants on their journey to inclusive leadership, provide an understanding of core concepts around the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) space and afford the opportunity for hands-on discussion around critical topics and issues. They feature RISE's multifaceted curriculum, which covers a wide array of topics and skills, increases an understanding of racial equity and builds cultural competence.

The [PRO] RISE Certificate of Inclusive Leadership, which is available exclusively for [PRO] members, begins April 28 and runs for 12 weeks. It includes six live virtual workshops, two self-paced digital activities and a capstone experience. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of all workshops and requirements.

"The sports community has the power to bring people together and act as leaders for advancing values of inclusion, racial equity and social justice," said RISE Vice President of Programs, Kim Miller. "This opportunity provides participants with a safe environment to learn about important diversity and inclusion related concepts and empowers them to be champions of change to improve the long-term health and performance of their organization and positively impact their communities. We're excited to partner with Pro Sports Assembly to help educate and empower sports leaders to make a real difference on the industry and beyond."

"Providing benefits and resources to our members so they can be wildly successful in their professional journey is core to the mission of Pro Sports Assembly," said [PRO] Managing Director Corinne Milien. "Our certificate with RISE is an excellent example. Many leaders have been put in a position to lead diversity and inclusion efforts, but have not had extensive training, especially as it specifically relates to pro sports. Now they do, and we could not be more thrilled with this offering."

The [PRO] RISE Certificate of Inclusive Leadership is available exclusively for [PRO] members and will bring together those who have been charged with or are interested in creating a more diverse and inclusive culture within their organization.
