The work required to unite our country, end systemic racism and create a more equitable and inclusive society demands that everyone plays a part.
RISE can only create lasting change with the contributions of incredible sponsor organizations. Our efforts to educate and empower the sports community to be leaders for addressing racism and championing social justice are made stronger because of their support. Together, we are working to create a nation unified through sports committed to racial equity and social justice.
Group1001 has long believed education and sports have the power to transform communities and is committed to supporting RISE in our drive to end systemic racism and empower the next generation of leaders.
With a two-year, $2M contribution, Group1001 is helping RISE enact change from our youngest constituents to professional athletes. The company has taken an active leadership role in bringing RISE programming to the Indy metro area at a key time for the city as it prepares to host several marquee events in 2021 and 2022, and has founded and helped launch the RISE Group1001 Fellowship program, a group of two fellows working for RISE in both 2020 and 2021. Additionally, this support allows RISE to reach more youth virtually with the purchase of technology needs for students and supports formatting RISE curriculum to fit more capabilities.
Internally, Group1001 has committed to a yearlong RISE learning series through 2021, which includes company-wide town halls and interactive training using the results-driven RISE curriculum.
"We are disheartened by recent events that have captured the horrors of systemic racism, and while it won't be solved overnight, we can contribute to the solution to end racial discrimination through new ideas and actions that bring a positive impact." Dan Towriss, Group1001 President & CEO.
Pepsi has committed to be a champion of change through support of RISE's mission and programming.
Kicking off in 2020, Pepsi's investment will ensure experiential learning opportunities for RISE program participants around the country, including fans, athletes and coaches across multiple levels of sport. Additionally, Pepsi will educate and empower Pepsi business partners and employees through engagement with RISE multi-week leadership sessions, which build cultural competence. We also look forward to welcoming sports fans to learn more at RISE Champions of Change activations throughout the year ahead. Together, we hope to promote empathy and inspire leadership around racial equity and inclusion.
