The Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE) is an unprecedented alliance of professional sports leagues, organizations, athletes, educators, media networks and sports professionals using sports to bring people together to promote understanding, respect and equality. Through public awareness campaigns and educational programming, RISE aims to improve race relations.

RISE COACHES CLINIC IN DETROIT
About 50 coaches, sports administrators and youth program managers from throughout southeast Michigan attended a RISE Coaches Clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 8, to learn how to facilitate the RISE High School Leadership Program. The half-day train-the-trainer workshop was at RISE’s Midwest regional office in Detroit. The training included a Q&A session with former Detroit Tigers player Willie Horton. Leading the Q&A discussion was Kim Miller, RISE’s vice president, leadership & education programs.
